The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to midnight akst tonight.
As the high pressure moves east in the Yukon the pressure gradient will increase in the northern Panhandle. Wind gusts will increase to 40 mph by this evening. The highest gusts will mainly be south and east of Haines.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speed or frequent gusts will occur between 40 and 60 mph.
This statement will be updated by 12 am akst tonight or sooner if conditions warrant.
