The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a freeze warning...which is in effect from 1 am to 10 am CDT Saturday. A freeze watch has also been issued. This freeze watch is in effect from 10 PM CDT Saturday evening through 9 am CDT Sunday morning.

* Temperatures...will fall to near 30 to the lower 30s Saturday morning. For Saturday night into Sunday morning...readings will fall into the upper 20s to the lower 30s.

* Impacts...these temperatures can easily kill sensitive vegetation and may likely end the growing season across central Alabama.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
