Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 20:02 CDT le 20 mai 2013

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Arkansas... north central Arkansas and
western Arkansas... including the following areas... in central
Arkansas... Pope and Yell. In north central Arkansas... Baxter...
Boone... Marion... Newton and Searcy. In western Arkansas...
Johnson... Logan... Polk and Scott.

* Through Tuesday evening

* showers and thunderstorms will build over the watch area
overnight. While precipitation is expected to weaken Tuesday
morning... storms will likely redevelop Tuesday afternoon. Areas
of heavy rain are likely through Tuesday. Rainfall amounts will
average between 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts in
excess of 4 inches possible.

* The atmosphere is abnormally moist... which will make
thunderstorms more efficient rainmakers. This will increase the
chances of excessive rain and high water problems.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Be prepared to take action if a Flash Flood
Warning is issued.
