... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST Thursday for
north and central Georgia...
A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST Thursday for
north and central Georgia.
Behind a cold front... strong northwest winds will increase across
the region overnight... and will continue through Wednesday night.
Sustained north to northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph can be expected
with gusts to 40 mph or possibly higher... especially in the higher
elevations if north Georgia.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Remember... a Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of 20
mph or higher or gusts to 35 mph or stronger are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Soils across north and
central Georgia remain nearly saturated from recent heavy
rains... this will put some trees and power lines in danger of
falling in the strong winds.
