A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am MDT Sunday
across the western Magic Valley and southern Twin Falls County.
Snow will continue most of the night with an early season winter
storm across south central Idaho. Temperatures which rose above
freezing in the Twin Falls area this afternoon will drop back
below 32 by midnight. Another round of snow through the night is
expected produce 2 to 4 additional inches of snow overnight in
the valleys with up to 6 inches in the mountains.
With 1 to locally 10 inches reported... a tight gradient in
snowfall occurred today... lesser amounts around Twin Falls and
greatest amounts in southeastern Twin Falls County mountains.
Total accumulations will range from 3 to 7 inches in the
valleys... and 6 to 12 inches in the mountains of southern Twin
Falls County. Heaviest amounts will be in the mountains of
southeastern Twin Falls County... decreasing to the north and
west.
The wetness of the snow will limit blowing and drifting even
though northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph will be blowing. However...
falling snow will reduce visibility to less than one mile at
times.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. This will make travel very hazardous or
impossible at times.
