Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 13:41 CST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Scattered snow showers could create some isolated slick patches
on area roadways...

Brief bursts of snowfall may accumulate one quarter to one half
inch in grassy areas. Some Road surfaces may be cool enough to
allow for slick spots to start to develop this afternoon and
evening... especially elevated Road surfaces like bridges and
overpasses. This will be more the exception than the rule
however... as most snowfall will have little effect other than
temporary drops in visibility.

The best chance of encountering some deterioration in Road
surfaces due to snow showers this afternoon and evening will be in
southwest Indiana and northwest Kentucky.

... Scattered snow showers today...

Scattered snow showers may temporarily reduce driver
visibilities through this afternoon. The showers will be hit and
miss and affect especially the northern half of the area... from
around Mount Vernon Illinois over to around the Evansville Indiana
and Owensboro Kentucky Metro areas.

Warm ground and air temperatures above freezing were helping the
snowfall melt as it hit the ground. At times the snow may be
mixed with rain or sleet in pockets too... due to this melting
effect. Any accumulations that occur should be minor.
