... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of Arkansas and Oklahoma... including the following
areas... in Arkansas... Benton... Carroll... Crawford... Franklin...
Madison... Sebastian and Washington. In Oklahoma... Adair...
Cherokee... Delaware... Haskell... Latimer... Le Flore... Mayes...
McIntosh... Muskogee... Okfuskee... Okmulgee... Ottawa...

* Through this evening
* ongoing showers and thunderstorm activity tonight may increase
in areal coverage overnight across the watch area as eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas remains in a very moist
atmosphere. Additional showers and thunderstorms will be likely
again on Tuesday as only a modest shift of the moist environment
is expected. Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are
possible south of Interstate 44 through Tuesday as several
rounds of thunderstorms may affect the same areas. Local amounts
of 5 inches are possible... especially Tuesday across southeast
Oklahoma and west central Arkansas where prolonged storm
chances will reside.
* The heavy rainfall may lead to localized flash flooding... and
could also cause rapid rises on creeks and small streams... and
may lead to mainstem river flooding as well.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means rapidly rising water or flooding is
possible within the watch area.
If you are in the watch area... keep informed... and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
