regional weather discussion... At noon... isolated rain showers continued to move north over parts of far northern Oklahoma near the Kansas line. Showers and isolated thunderstorms were also occurring over southern Oklahoma... southeast of a line from Waurika to Ada. This activity was moving to the northeast around 30 mph. The wet weather was being caused by an upper level storm system centered over west central Kansas. Elsewhere... dry air aloft had spread into much of the western parts of Oklahoma... and western North Texas... although low clouds persisted in the rain cooled air over western Oklahoma. Some sunshine was evident in western North Texas with the partial clearing will also spread into southwest Oklahoma during the afternoon. Meanwhile... scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to redevelop over west central Oklahoma this afternoon and spread east as a surface and upper level trough moves in from the west. This will set the stage for stronger thunderstorm development during the afternoon.
