... Red flag warning in effect from noon today to 7 PM EDT this
evening for all of central Pennsylvania...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a red
flag warning for the potential of rapid wildfire growth... which
is in effect from noon today to 7 PM EDT this evening.

* Affected area... central Pennsylvania... including the Laurel
Highlands... northwest mountains... and Susquehanna River valley.

* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Timing... this afternoon into early this evening.

* Relative humidity... 25 to 30 percent.

* Temperatures... ranging from the mid and upper 50s across the
higher elevations of the north and west... to the lower and mid
60s elsewhere.

* Impacts... the potential exists for rapid fire spread if
uncontrolled fires develop.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Critical fire weather conditions are expected or occurring. Any
fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become
difficult to contain.
