At Blacksburg... the record of 62 degrees from 1963 was tied on Wednesday. At Roanoke... the high was 65 degrees... which breaks the record of 66 degrees set in 1937. At Lynchburg... the record of 65 degrees set in 1927 was broken... by wednesday's high of 63 degrees. At Danville... the high was 70 degrees... which breaks the record of 75 degrees set in 1963.

	Local Storm Report
08/27/2008 0356 PM 5 miles SW of Elmo, Pittsylvania County. Flash flood, reported by dept of highways. Barker Creek was flooding portions of White Ridge Road, resulting in a Road closure. 08/27/2008 0305 PM 2 miles NNE of Ringgold, Pittsylvania County. Flash flood, reported by dept of highways. Hillside Road is flooded with one foot of water running across from Sandy Creek. The Road is closed. 08/27/2008 1230 PM Danville City, city of Danville County. Flash flood, reported by law enforcement. Several roads closed due to high water including Riverside Drive... west Main Street... the intersections of Riverside Drive and Cortland... River Street and Richmond Boulevard... and Jefferson and Independence.
