Heavy storms overnight left a total of 2.21 inches of rain in the gauge, six inches of water in the back of the boat and a heavily saturated lawn, considering there is nothing but sand underneath it. This brings the rain total for the month of August so far to 11.71 inches. It is a blessing, as our aquafer needed replenishing, and our lakes just might make it back to normal levels. Boat docks on area lakes have been sitting in inches of water for months now, and I am going to head out to my favorite fishing hole today and see if the lake level has improved with the near foot of rain we've received this month.
