Weather conditions remain the same, clear, calm, a cooler 12C. Forecast is suggesting cloudy periods, temp and humidity to rise mid 20's, no air movement again today.
Tourist traffic for the area reported to be down from previous years. To one not directly involved locally seems normal amount of folks enjoying the unique offerings from our part of the universe. Traffic with school age components will soon drop off, to be replaced by more older(mature) clientele.
Work on trap gear going on in various yards, ten weeks or so and they go back in the water.

It sure seemed to me, whilst I was in Grand Manan, that there was A LOT of tourists around. If you drove in to the Save Easy at any given time you rarely saw a N.B. license plate. According to various friends on the Island, Wilcox's tours were full, two trips per day (I think he can take 90 on his boat), and Whales and Sales were taking two trips per day as well. We actually saw people on the trails we hiked as well. Normally, we would see no one and I often commented we could be dead a week before someone found us, and that would be because the vultures were starting to circle.
Also, Tammy was completely booked and full until Labour Day, as was Cliff Side Cottages. (those were just the owners we personally talked to). Also, the camp ground had so many people all the time that we commented it was getting way to touristy for us on the Anchorage Trails.
But, I suppose it is sort of like the fishery - who really knows who is doing what?? HaHa
We had extremely hot weather today. I went out to the bank and post office at 1:30 p.m. and noticed some very strange black clouds forming in the West, and I mean BLACK. I barely made it to the car from the bank and it opened up and just poured. This was apparently a big surprise to most as everyone had their windows down in cars and there was a lot of soaked butts coming in to the store :) One of the girls who works with us has a rag top - which was down while she worked. By the time she got the top up, she pretty much had to bail out the car. STRANGE stuff.
The weather girls are all saying there will be a cat 3 hurricane in Florida by Wednesday, co-insiding with the Rep. convention, or some such. I would not be one bit surprised if we get hurrican's this year, due to the fact our water temp is way up - at least in G.M. where I could go wading for the first time ever without freezing my feet. I am preparing for that eventuality cause I really think it is going to happen.
