Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, a broad area of low pressure located near the Northwestern Bahamas is producing an extensive area of showers and thunderstorms over the Bahamas and Cuba. While organization of the system has not changed over the past few hours, environmental conditions are expected to become more conducive for the formation of a subtropical or tropical cyclone by Saturday or Sunday. The low should move toward the Northeast at 15mph during the next day or so with a turn back to the West by Saturday. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a high chance, 70%, of becoming a subtropical or tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. In the Eastern Pacific, Hurricane Bud is moving closer to the Mexican Coastline and should make landfall late tonight. Winds are at 110mph with a pressure of 964mbars. Movement is North-Northeast at 8mph.
