I've been lurking on Dr M's blog off and on this year. I thought I would pop over here and say hello. It's that time again, something to worry about in the GOM. It's been a rough few months and things don't seem to be getting any better. I hope all of you are well this year.

It's that time of year again. Yes I'm a foul weather WU follower. I come out when we get something churning out in those waters. Getting out of Dodge with a heavy heart.

Not much left to do today, just pack up the vehicles and cut the grass. We will be put under a mandatory evacuation at 4 PM, and have plans to leave in the wee hours Sunday morning.How many tears can be shed before anything happens? I love my home. How is everyone doing?What preps have you made?Here-hurricane supplies were bought months ago. Our home is boarded up, family photos taken down and packed. Reservations have been made. Eating the big shrimp and steaks out of the freezer tonight.

I know there are many of us watching and waiting to see if Gustav will pay us a visit. In some ways, I think the waiting is the hardest part, the not knowing can make you crazy.
