I don't do blogs that often, I don't have much time for it. But Spring has arrived in our big city of Montreal, and I feel so invigorated by it, I just had to let it out.
It has been a very long and harduous winter and I am so glad that it's over.
Every year, when the nice spring weather starts and all through summer into the cold windy days of late fall, I go out for daily walks. Weather permitting of course. At my age, it's the best exercise I can do to keep in shape. I am a very active old lady. LOL
Yesterday was my official first walk of the year. I went out, armed with my cell phone and my MP3. I planned to take it easy since I hadn't exercised that much all winter and just take a slow walk around the block. But when I got outside, it felt so good after beeing cooped up in the house for almost six months that I found myself walking at my usual brisk pace and, before I knew it I had walked around two city blocks.
Going up my street was pretty nice and quiet and I could hear my music very well, but when I turned onto the Boulevard, which is a main thoroughfare, it got very noisy with the traffic and I could hardly hear what was playing on my MP3. I guess I'll have to avoid that street in the future.
It was nice to see the snow almost all melted and, on the sunny side of the streets, the trees starting to bud. Pretty soon there will be blossoms on some of them and flowers peeking out of the ground, I can't wait.

I am new at this. I am retired, living in Montreal and am presently writing my first novel, hoping to be published. |
