Local school has banned usage of red and green paper and anything else associated with Christmas. Is it just me or are we going to far with this fear of offending people.
Last time I checked this is still the Christmas season,if this time of year bothers you, stay inside your house until its over.Actually this should be a good time of year to explain to your kids about diversity and the differences of religious beliefs.
Sorry had to get that off my chest, after I heard that story about banning red and green paper.

I heard about this and my jaw dropped.
Ok, I get it about the religious Christmas activities, but the fun secular stuff like Santa and using Red and Green wrapping paper.
Yes, way to PC these days.
and I am not afraid to say
Merry Christmas to You!
(and my hubby's side of the family is mostly Jewish and they love Christmas!)
Then a beautiful weekend is in store, before a coastal storm effects us Monday into Tuesday.
All in all, temps are still running above normal for November.

T'was the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
Not Happy Holiday !*
Please, all Christians join together and
Wish everyone you meet during the
Holidays a
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Christ is The Reason˜ for the Christ-mas Season

people who were color blind LOL
Red and green? Thats hysterical.
WTF????????????????
And replaced it with what? An obese guy in a red suit, urging us to "BUY BUY BUY"
Who did we please??
see "thingsivefoundinpockets.blogspot.com"
Smells like someone stepped in a Fox news story.
Does anyone actually know this is the real story in it's entirety? They like to run outrageous taglines and go on to tell you half the truth or worse nothing at all.
It just seems unlikely is all. Around here it's Christmas out the Wazoo and it's not even Thanksgiving yet. Over commercialized yes but banned? Not by a long shot.
Lots of school administrator are facing a lot issues now with Christmas, parents of other religions as well as atheists are forcing them to keep Christmas celebrations of the schools.
Many stores are using Happy Holidays and not putting up Merry Christmas signs anymore.

WTF??????
Kathryn McMillan and Kathleen Cullen, who both have children at Byam, asked school officials to allow all holiday items at the gift shop following a ban on Santa, candy canes, stockings, and all Christmas, Hanukkah and other “religious items.”
But a meeting with some PTO parents on Thursday night grew heated as emotions got in the way.
Red and green tissue paper to wrap presents was also crossed off the list because it looked too “Christmasy,” McMillan said.
“One of the parents said, ‘If we allow Santa, what do we say if a child brings in a swastika? Do we allow that too?’ ” McMillan said. “All I could think of was, are you kidding? You’re comparing a Christmas ornament to a swastika? It seems as if reason is lost somewhere and I just hope we can find it again.”
WT-Double-F?????????????????
What is the problem with Christmas??
And what happened to Freedom of Expression and all that??
People are not allowed to express their Religious beliefs?
If the answer to the last one is "yes. but in private" then that means "No" to me.
Weirdness rules.
I don't have an answer, after decades of Christmas celebrations,we suddenly have to worry about offending people.
One more blog day before the weekend.
We have some real serious issues
in our eduction system and we're crankin over colored tissues????
This merely distracts the sheep from the real problems at hand.....I call it the three D's
Distraction, Diversion, ...Deceit
We have some real serious issues in just life these days girl
Merry Christmas!
