Weekend nor'easter
Posted by: NEwxguy, 14:21 GMT le 12 novembre 2009 +0
I always felt that the remnants of Ida were going to make up here, and although,it not going to be a huge impact, its still going to have some heavy rains and gusty winds Friday night and Saturday. The worst will be the cape and the islands and SE Mass and RI.
When a system hangs around off the coast,of the Carolinas, most times it will make it north, and thats what has happened. The high that was protecting is moving into the Maritimes and open the door for the moisture to move north. It certainly has been more typical November weather with temps in the low 50's and cool NE breeze.
Weather looks to improve as Sunday progresses and early next week looks nice.

Looking at some of the reports coming out of the Virginia area, and up through Maryland and New Jersey, this nor'easter will be one to be talked about for a while. Some pretty impressive totals in rainfall and especially in storm surge, and winds have been gusting over 50 mph.

Afternoon New ~

Heard from other meterological sources that we'll be having windswept rain (up to 2") most of Saturday and finally ending mid Sunday. Hopefully, most of the remnants of IDA don't do too much harm to the main and coastal regions of Mass.

Hope your wife is holding her own today after yesterday's treatment. Continued best wishes to her for finding the strength to endure it all.

Hi,Mass, good to see you, haven't blogged much with you lately. Well, the 4th treatment really developed alot of complications, aside from the low blood counts she has been having all along, now her potassium and magnesium counts have dropped way down, she's having a lot of stomach problems, and leg pain issues,so the doctor is really concerned that the chemo is doing damage,so yesterdays treatment was reduced strength and if she continues to have serious issues this time she will probably not do the last treatment. So this has been especially rough.
I'm so stressed right now,I don't know whether Im coming of going, between the job,and dealing with issues trying to sell my dad's place in New Hampshire.AAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!
Ok, I feel better now.LOL,I'm still trying to stay positive, somehow.

So sorry to hear of this and the fact that you have so much on your plate right now. Hopefully, even though she may miss the last treatment and given that each case is based individually, it may be enough to combat the affected region.

As far as your Dad's house is concerned, is it a question of needing to sell it immediately due to the high property taxes in NH?
Is there a trustworthy family member who could assist or unburden you in this particular matter?

mass,
My brother and sister want it sold right away, and I'm letting my brother do most of the negotiations, but he's in St. Croix and my sister is in Florida. We have a buyer, but theres been complications. I really didn't want to sell it for the proposed price, worth more than that, but at this point,I just want to get it done, and get what we can.
As for my wife,it's good that she got 4 full strength treatments in here, and one of lesser strength, which may be enough,as the doctor said there are not studies to show 6 is better than 4 at this point.I have a new found admiration for my wife, and what she has gone through.

I've been thinking of you and your wife this week too, NEguy, since you hadn't been on for a while. She is one brave lady, and she draws strength from your steadfast devotion. And you are brave too, and so good that you have each other. As far as the NH place goes, sometimes it is just better to cut your losses and get on with the more important stuff. In the long run some more money for it isn't worth what you have to pay in worry and aggravation. Hope you have a good night walkie with that excellent dog friend this evening, even though under a cloudy sky.

Thanks, lookingup, the support from people here always helps me,its been such a tough time for the two of us,next year will look back on this with such relief and hopefully for my wife a sense of accomplishment.
As far as the property, just want it to go away.So at this point don't care about any loss on it.Given the economy and the very slow improvement, who knows when the market will open up.

Sorry I left you hanging around 1:30 pm, as I lost track of time and had an important errand to run. Glad to know that there are other siblings involved and who hopefully understand your current predicament. (I know, too, from past experience that sometimes a sibling can be problematic when it comes to situations regarding an estate, nevertheless, as hard as it is sometimes, best to prioritize like looking up has mentioned, and allow them to bear the brunt of that burden).

Glad to know, too, that your Sheltie, Prince, is home supplying his form of protection and love to your wife while you're at work and when you get home. Dogs are truly not only man's best friend but all genders!

Anytime, you want to vent feel free. Granted, it's hard sometimes not actually knowing someone personally or their circumstances, but have found in these past few months, how the comraderie insight and support of certain bloggers really does help during trying times.

HOPE YOU AND YOURS ARE ABLE TO HAVE A DECENT EVENING!

I'm happy when I can bring a smile to someone through graphics or whatever. It's been a mutually rewarding experience.
