Foggy Mornings & Meowing Frogs
Posted by: PeaceRiverBP, 19:11 GMT le 24 avril 2006 +0
I haven’t had time to blog for a while- we had a series of family birthdays and anniversaries and of course, Easter was tossed in there, too, to keep us busy. Also, the weather has been perfect for gardening, so my husband & I have been out in the yard, working to whip it into shape. We bought our home about 8 months ago and the yard was a combination jungle and junk yard, so getting it in order has been a long row to hoe! It is nice to see the flowers and plants slowly emerging as we clean out all the weeds and garbage. We’ve moved a lot of the plantings around to better locations and unfortunately, had to remove one moldy orange tree completely. Some local bunny rabbits have taken a liking to drinking out of our fountain and eating some of the flowers, but they haven’t been too destructive.... yet. While I was watering the flowers by the fountain one evening, one of those bunnies came dashing out from them. Apparently, he didn't like the sudden shower. My husband shook his head and said;
“You can water that bunny, but it won’t grow!”

It sure has been foggy during the mornings, lately. I leave the house as soon as it gets light out to go for my daily walk and there’s something magical about watching the pink sun rise through the mists and see everything be-jeweled with dew-drops. There are lots of frogs in this area, including a species that is new to me- it meows! It drives our kitten crazy, because the kitten stands at the windows trying to find the other cat. Since the kitten is an indoor cat, I go to check it out and it’s always a frog sitting by the window meowing!

The fog hasn’t done much to make up for the lack of rain, though. Here in SW Florida, we haven’t had but a handful of rain storms since last Fall. Hopefully, the summer heat and humidity will bring some much needed rain to quench our thirsty landscape.

I hope you all are having a great day! See you later! :-D

Good Mornin Peace, from Central Florida. We have been lucky with almost two inches of rain, but still way below normal. Maybe Shera's rain dancing dude will send some rain down your way. Make it a great Tuesday!!

Hi Shera! Good idea! The next time I hear one of those frogs meowing, I'll get a photo- maybe someone can tell me what kind of frog it is.
