That was also a good explanation! :)
Don't even try, yer wise one.
The last time I tried a "young peoples" dance was attempting the Macarena barefoot on a dock after midnight in the backwaters of Lake Hardin on the ol' Chatahooch with some drop dead gorgeous young country girls.:))
That won't happen again !!!
Hmmm??? Maybe I should have worn bowling shoes...Oh yeah, I forgot, Shep don't bowl.
I'm with Pott on this one, stick with the Mashed Potato. You can just wave your arms more and they'll think you're "really getting down".
:)))
You have that right, I was very careful of the new Titanium knee too!
By the way, HEADS UP DUDE, here it comes again.
eurythmics - here comes a rain again Ylee.
Sorry, you'll just have to hum it.
And I gotta get back to work.
Thanks guys. It's well appreciated after a day like this...
Have a lovely old light fitting that hangs from a chain. Copper. Nice green patina all over.
Took it out of it's hiding place, cleaned it up, installed it from the ridge which is about 16' feet up.
Noticed that the wire coming out of the top did not look too wholesome, but since it was last hung on the windward coast of Tobago I thought "Well, I'll just assume that it has a little salt corrosion around where the wire comes through the fitting".
Installed it.
Turned it on.
IT WORKED FINE !
Then SIL law came out to see what I was doing (he had abandoned me for Fatherly Duties a while before).
He said "It's Good? "
I said "Yeah, turn it on"
BOOMFLASH !
Starting again on that one in the morning......
Going to have to see if I can get inside the damm fitting and rewire.
BAAAAHH !
So, right now, CHEERS !
Nice!
I get a real kick out of son and other SIL (they are both real good) when they play mostly melodious stuff that they heard at home growing up, instead of that other thing.
Sometimes they swank it up a bit which is nice.
The Music Lives.
No doubt you will prevail over the corroded thingy.
Found out that a guy that I went to high school with was killed in a bad car accident yesterday.
Angie drug out the old yearbooks. Had to explain a lot of stuff, which will no doubt leave me a tad weary. (she's not done yet)
Will check back later.
Have a great night all!
Sorry to learn of your school friends death.
Makes us realise how fleeting this all is,
Take Care.
I graduated in 1965, went into the Army, my parents moved to another town so when I visited them on leave I went to their new town. Never went back to Hot Springs, Ark except on vacation a few times and never could find anyone again. :(
I haven't been in touch with the guy since he graduated.
Talked to a couple old class mates tonight that remembered him just as I did. Great trombone player, a local basketball hero, and a gentle soul.
Life is too short, and can end at any moment.
Live each moment to the fullest.
Have lost touch with too many old friends.
I'm not broken up over this.
Billy was just a nice guy that I knew.
Of course, another person that I am friends with was really upset tonight. Maybe that is the reason for the connections.
I could remember and care about the feelings of a friend that it was hard for.
We, as friends, take care for one another.
I really value the friends that I have made here, that care for me, and for Angie.
God Bless you all!
-Hood out!
Of course I know what time it is.
My laptop has a clock in it. :)
Morning!
That's the best kind, doesn't run off as fast.
We had 2.5" Sunday and Monday, gardens look good.
Forecast calls for 95*F today.
Have to take the lawn tractor and mow down the giant mushrooms today. :)
RTLSNK if they are growing in a circle, you might want to study this before messing with them.
He wha tills the fairies' green
Nae luck again shall hae :
And he wha spills the fairies' ring
Betide him want and wae.
For weirdless days and weary nights
Are his till his deein' day.
But he wha gaes by the fairy ring,
Nae dule nor pine shall see,
And he wha cleans the fairy ring
An easy death shall dee.
Watch out for them. They mean Something or the other, you know.
Got to wake up at 7:45, as it was still dark with rain coming down like somebody left a tap on all night long.
Have to get myself in gear, because I promised SIL's mother we would pick her up and take her on an Adventure.
Hope she has her wading wings....
Was looking at the sat loop about the time you posted that.
Looks like you're gonna have another very soggy day.
Be safe.
They are the smaller, sweet, Caribbean type with the prickly leaves. So much better than the Hawaiian ones from the grocery stores. Letting them fully ripen before harvesting makes a big difference too. Of course, the trick is getting them as soon as they are ripe but before the critters find them.
Now...where's that blender?
:o)
RING ANY BELLS YET???
IT WAS EXACTLY "51" (OMG) YEARS AGO TODAY THAT LITTLE ROBBIE CAME INTO THE WORLD KICKING AND SCREAMING.
GEE, NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED HAS IT? yuk yuk yuk
img src="http;//">
Constant drizzle, with .75" in the gauge since dawn.
Just back from town and had a walk around the place.
It's wet alright. Standing water in little pools all over.
Looks like it may improve in a day or two though.
Hey. I got the light working.
It's obviously a good quality one, because it came apart without too much trouble in spite of being sea-blasted for a long time.
Will do a final check of the lighting tonight, to make sure all's well.
Ambiance Rules in this case!
Next week, it becomes a Work Space. Which has it's own ambiance of course, but not the one I am trying to create on Friday night.
You know the thing...
Well, will you look at that!
Tell the Youngster that I send him lots of Whatnot and Stuff.
I was going to ask about the light.
RTLSNK,
I thought I was going to get away with it again. SugarBear had to go and remind you didn't she?
I thought you knew better than to put candles on a rum cake!
Thanks guys!
And the cake is on fire.
But he doesn't seem to care. Or even notice.
What a life.......
Do we look like that yet?
On a Much Brighter Note (??), this place is swarming with Rain Flies.
Which are actually flying termites looking for a place to get into the beams and everything else made of wood around here.
They swarm out of the ground when it is very wet.
The only way to ensure that they are not successful, is to burn the place down.
Be back in a while, this shouldn't take long......
May you live long, and prosper.
And you as well.
It was actually Grothar's photo.
This is the one of Captain Rob.
Now your comment won't make any sense anymore,
but that's not really all that unusual.
heh heh heh
You're feeling your oats today I can see!
Okay, that one is better!
I thought you would like the new one.
Of course I left it on Orca's blog! yuk yuk yuk
Hey, did you try to send me a WU Mail?
The red MAIL BUTTON was red but when I clicked on it there was nothing there.
Pottery said that happened to him last night too.
Others have mentioned the odd behavior on their blogs too.
Happy Birthday Rob! Hope your day has been filled with fun and happiness.
Thanks!
My day has been fairly quiet.
Which is exactly what I wished for!
Sorry, my dear Fellow.
I will try to make my posts more easily understood, even by people such as your self.
(hehehehe, i LOVE it when they leave the doors open...)
You've been a busy little camper this afternoon I see.
:o)
I knew that phrase rang a bell!
I even have a Critter Photo of it:
I think we are trying to be contacted by an entity from Beyond......
What we need to do, first, is to find out where 'beyond' is.
Secondly, we need to send a Volunteer there.
To show them how it's done, and to present Greetings and Salutations in the hope that they will reciprocate with baskets of Gold, Rum, Scantilly clad babes, Bertram boats and Masseratti motorcars.
Since it's Hood's BDay, I vote we send him....
What a great idea my good man!
I second that vote!
One more vote and he is the man.
Just a thought, better make sure they send more than one scantilly clad babe,
you know how he is. :)
Well, you know that old saying,
telegraph, telephone, tell the blogs. :)
I leave at the stroke of midnight and report back...well, when and if they let me i guess.
I'm taking Krissy with me!
:o)
The phone calls have started coming in as folks get home from work and stuff. Also, Angie will be home directly and we have to find something for dinner. Don't know what's up after that, but will get back here when I can.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROB!!!
Happy Birthday, Rob! :)

51???
So, if we round that up, you're 100?
Holding up pretty good for an ol' man. No bib or bent straws yet, eh?
Have another 50, "on the house"... :))
Passing the half century mark is a wonderfully profound time. A time to revisit our brand. A time for thanksgiving. A time for forgiveness. A time to commit to leaving nothing unsaid with loved ones.
Carry on...
LOL
Forgot you were old enough to remember all 3!
LOL Gotcha!
Thank you so much!
You all Rock!
Shep,
Amen!
Thanks for the great tunes!
Okay folks, I'm going to cash in my birthday points and see if I can get a massage, or something.
Have a great night.
Really appreciate you all.
Even RTLSNK...even if he is a bit of a security risk!
:o)
