The comet is presently moving to a close encounter with the bright star, Mirfak, in the constellation of Perseus. Look for the comet to be sailing by Mirfak over the next few days with the closest approach on the evening of 19 Nov. At this time the comet's center will be within about a half a Full Moon's width or about 17 arc minutes from the star.
This will place the star well within the comet's ever expanding coma (which is well over 900,000 miles in diameter now) and should make a very nice photo. I am going out tomorrow night to my dark sky site about 100 miles north of Torrance, CA near Frazier Park, CA. I will be taking some great comet pictures for sure. Please let me know if you would like to see them.

Clear Skies,
Alfredo
