It Seems That the Mild Weather is Coming to an End in Michigan
After a very mild month of December, it seems that more seasonable temperatures are knocking on our door. Temps have been averaging about 20 degrees above normal and snow has been almost non-existent this month. What snow we did receive was gone a few days later. Those who hate winter weather have been very happy. But those looking forward to favorite winter sports have had their share of disappointments.
Today it has been snowing all day although there is very little accumulation....about an inch at most. Right now (7:15 PM), our temp is 32.2F and the humidity is 98%. Although we have a rising barometer at 29.94", we could see our coldest temps yet this season as the skies clear. Lows tonight will dip into the teens. Here is what we can expect this upcoming week:
Tonight: Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 17. Blustery, with a northwest wind between 16 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26. West northwest wind between 8 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 25. Southwest wind between 5 and 8 mph.
Thursday: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 38. South southwest wind between 9 and 11 mph.
Thursday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 31. Southwest wind between 3 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Friday: A chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
