Ooooh, Flo just cut in again! Ain't heat wonderful? LOL (Knock on wood, Bug... Don't wanna jinx Old Flo!)
Man, I had feelers out from CT to TN. Between BigT and a fellow from a mobile home furnace repair place online, I had all kinds of long distance advice and suggestions. Many thanks to the both of them!
And I may have done a bad thing.... I told the guy in TN that I blogged here. (He's an SC native from Upstate) If he checks it out, the poor fellow is gonna get sucked into WUBAland, late night blogging and lurking, sneaking online from work....... What have I done?
Have a Great Thursday. :-)
Life's been hectic living in 2 places, especially when one place has no computer access! Got the furnace cleaned and filled the heating oil tank yesterday, burned $318 worth since November 2nd...OUCH!
My decorations? 2 small ceramic lighted trees, made by Mom. One in each front room in the window. A wreath on the front door. I replaced the light on the front porch with a blue bulb. Mom's Christmas cactus on the kitchen table is in full bloom. Not much but only the neighbors will see it. That's at my "home" without a computer. My Christmas will be across the river at Bro's house this year.
Here where I'm typing from is another story. The tenants went crazy on the front lawn with inflatables: Santa, the Grinch, and Frosty. A snow globe with a winter scene and blowing "snow" inside it. Lighted reindeer. A 5 foot by 9 foot U.S. Flag on the front of the house, surrounded by red, white & blue lights. There is a Limo company that offers tours around town to see the lights, this place is one of their stops. The man made the local news last year, although he has toned it down a bit this year. Last Christmas Eve a lady stopped and gave him a bottle of wine. She said her kids loved the lights and the wine was to ease the pain when the electric bill came in LOL. I'll get a picture of it all up in my blog as soon as the weather cooperates. Bitter cold for a couple nights, then misty last night. If I'm here I'm usually on the blogs. Tonight I'll have to remind myself to step outside with the camera...
Dang. Lunch is already over. Catch ya'll tonight!
Take care
Have a Fantastic Friday.
Keep those antennae warm today!
Hapy Friday, and make it a great one!
And, yes, Wab... I did get all cleaned up and straightened out! LOL
Love the Christmassy pics!
Hopefully, I can stay awake long enough tonight to hang out a bit. Makes a diff when you don't have to get up at 5:15 the next morning!
Have a great night and wonderful saturday!
It is really cold here tonight!
Have realized (DUH!) that it would be a bit warmer in here if I had drapes or curtains on the windows instead of just valances and mini-blinds. Think I'll take a trip to Wally World tomorrow and see what they have to offer.
Have a Great Saturday. :-)
Definitely a chilly one in Charleston! At least your downtown area is surrounded by warm water and is about 10 degrees warmer than the airport. I always enjoy your blogs, you do some good research on them. We finally bought an artificial tree this year. Most are pre-lit, but we found one that isn't because we enjoy putting the lights on ourselves and being able to change lights/colors from year to year. We have some old ornaments and my dad has some from about 80 years ago...they really do become family heirlooms. Stay warm and have a great weekend!!
Finishing my cards and Christmas Chocolates today - must get on, only two weeks to go, and no Christmas shopping done yet!!
BBL - hopefully
Mark, you guys hang on to those old ornaments and treat them gently! Use them and treasure them. They make great heirlooms.
Am not going to my cousin's today. Poor thing has another funeral to go to. She told me last night it seems her social life is nothing but funerals and doctor appointments anymore.
Need to make a run to Wally World, though I'm not enthused about fighting all the crowds. Need some birdseed, want to check out their drapes, as I really ought to get something up on the windows to keep the cold out and the heat in. Will gas up the truck while I'm down there, too.
I need to get my Christmas cards done up this weekend and in the mail. If I can remember where I squirrelled them away last year. I buy them after the holidays, when they mark everything 50-75% off. Then come home and put them up someplace so I'll know where they are. Of course, by the time I need them, I have no idea what I did with them. LOL
Have you safely returned from your venture out yet??? still at work here. I've only bought for the 3 grandkids their big gift. plus one gift for work and a small item for a friend we exchange with every year. Nothing else. Bought my cards but of course, I don't get them finished until around Dec 23 LOL!!!! Promis myself every year will get it done early but something always happens... cannot believe that in my 20's - mid 40's I had my cards ready to mail by Dec 1st then I just started getting them done later and later and later each year!LOL... everyone use to tell me my card was the first one they received; now they tell me, it was the last one and sometimes it came AFTER the 25th... oh well; I beleive we can celebrate Christmas until Three Kings Day, isn't that Jan 7th or 8th???? So no problem in my mind!!!
ok, rambled on enough now, gotta get back to work. Talk to you later!
Got some El Cheapo curtains for the living room and back door. Somehow miscounted and forgot a set for the one dining room window. Didn't see anything suitable for the kitchen windows. I got one set of 54" and put one panel on the front door and one on the back. Both of them have windows on the top half. They're really too long but I'm in no mood right now to sit down to the sewing machine. They're kind of thin but it will help insulate the windows a little bit. I hate a dark house and had nothing but miniblinds and valances. All this cold weather, though, even with Flo running, it's still been a bit chilly in here. Counting the front door, we have 4 windows in the living room and the living room is small.
Gonna have a problem with cat hair all over them, though. Little buggers spend half their time sitting at the windows.
Salutations from SWFL for that !!!LOL
2.14?? we are 2.30 plus here ... just don't understand!
I need curtains too, maybe I'll go there (on Monday ..lol) and look!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here .. no tree yet but Mickey and Tigger are adorning the front yard now!!! ;)
Later ...
((later))
Have a great night and a wonderful sunday!
