Yesterday after taking Abbey for her walk along the gopher trails I repaired a solar powered light which illuminates my house number. All it needed was to have the nicad batteries replaced. I replaced them with nickle hydride batteries which have a longer life span as they don't have as much memory as the nicads.
I also made some cjocolate rice cripie squares but when using a 1/2 to measure the amount of crispies to add to the marshmellow/chocolate mixture I forgot that I was using a 1/2 cup and ended up with a chewy rice crispie toffee. I was going to remelt it and add the other half of the crispies but my sister saud "Why It's good like this". It will now become a new menu item at the candy store.:) I wonder how many new recipies are made from mistakes in the kitchen.
today my sister and me will be attending the funeral of my step uncle as the Queen has to work. It must be hard for my step uncle's first family. Their mother, his previous wife passed away only a week ago.

Sounds like you have found your calling Tony. Yes some of the best recipes are mistakes that turned out better than the original. That is why I enjoy cooking, you never know what can come of a few changes in the recipe. I have to agree with your sister, that new crispy toffee sounds mighty good.
Have a great Thursday dear ones. ENJOY....
It's true how amazingly better results may occur by alternating measurements or expanding upon an original food recipe. Tribulations can come from trials after all!
By the looks of your current webcam and temperature gauge, it appears to be a gorgeous day in La Prairie. We're still battling the high three H's (hazy, hot, humid) today, before a cold front moves through later tomorrow and bringing us some welcomed relief. Hard to believe that our lows of last night (72F) were actually 20F degrees higher than our highs (52F) during a portion of last week! Next week, our overnight lows of last night will match our daytime highs. What an unseasonably warm weather pattern we've had this year! For the most part, though, I really can't complain!
Enjoy your Thursday and the continued visit from your sis!
