preparing the farm for an ernesto drive by. have to bring down the orchids, hanging baskets, etc. then we need to harvest the limes and mangos. hoping there wont be too much wind damage to the hydroponic lettuce farm. will keep checking in. rg

thanks. just got the parrots under shelter and the dogs have been bathed so they can sleep inside with me tonight. tables and chairs moved and secured. hope everyone else on this island is safe. some of our island neighbors live in less than safe homes. looks live our friends in belize and mexico will have a little rougher time with ernesto.
our worst problems here will be trees coming down, landslides and electrical lines being taken down by branches and trees, leading to no lights for a while. i think all of the dive shops have secured their boats. hope so. will be checking in on and off today and tonight with updates. later. rg

should have bought that waterproof camera. cant even open my front door. very heavy rain coming down in sideways sheets. can no longer see the ocean. but again, if this is all ernesto can do to us now... we are very lucky indeed. wind just picked up to 30+ mph wnw.

still raining here. very still this morning. kind of nice. humidity 100% everything feels a little damp but ernesto cause no more than a few muddy slides and some branches down. thanks for the concern. always scary when no one really knows where these storms will go and how strong they will be. rg

Always creepy when they come through in the middle of the night.
Be safe!
I was thinking about you.
I'm curious how you're growing lettuce in that heat..
