Seems we may have some weather on the west coast soon. The storm formerly known as Melor will be coming around the Pacific bowl and impacting the Northwest and Northern California, for sure, and may make its way far enough south to bring rain to parts of Southern California.

Here are the watchables...

We're still breathing -

Spot the swirly - it's a big'n -

Here is where we'll watch and groan as the storm peters out around Santa Barbara -

If it gets interesting I'll put more effort into following along with graphics.

Check weatherwest for ongoing conversation regarding this storm.
There are at least two wubloggers from NorCal who have mentioned this storm - James95928 and MsSactown. Plus Taz, of course :)

I expect DataPilot, oregonbirdofprey, and Feather, among others, will feel the wrath of Melor much more than I.

.....
I'm in a rush so if the pics and links don't come out right... forgive me ;)

Seriously? Nobel Peace Prize? Are they trying to destroy him?
Also, I know it's largely symbolic but, still... tell the folk in Afghanistan how the man is all about peace. Somehow, I don't think they'd buy it.
I suppose I could look around and find some justification for the award. I don't think I can be convinced, lol.

HELLO!

I have been away – spent a week in Beaumont, then a few days of catching up around the house, then an overnight trip to Morro Bay – and now I am happily back in SP, recharged and relaxed, and exhausted - but in a good way :)

…..
Karen - you can call the Nevadas anything you want! It's not like I'm in charge, LOL.
I bet you are enjoying your cool temps. Is it as dry there as it is here? Even overnight last night the humidity only went to about 70% - that's nuts!

I see your bees.

But, do you have the guts to raise? ;*)
My beehive is defunct, the bulk of them having left without notice and, after a couple of months of those left behind wandering aimlessly, there are no more. In Beaumont, though, those flowers were being buzzed like crazy. They were so thick that I was running into them as I walked along the path beside the flowers – they'd just bounce off me and go back to the flowers.

Love the comb over comment! I saw it that day and watched the loop over and over again. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it – it was so weird!

Hope that winter outlook is correct. It feels like it, but, what good is that? LOL

shore - I don't remember where I saw that quote but, as soon as I did, I knew I had to have it! It sure suits my writing “style”, haha.

When I popped in last night I saw that line of storms (which is still going?!) and I hope you got rain and no nasty effects from it. I'll have to do a run around of the blogs to see that everyone is okay.

ssigg - great article on the delta. I think they missed a few key points but then they were focused on certain aspects of the situation. There is no more money to stave off the inevitable and we will have to find some way to deal with the results of no water – and no levies. Nature has a way of putting things to rights whether humans like it or not.

The other article you linked made me positively high – I love it when science finds new evidence and everybody has to rethink and reevaluate. The joy of not knowing! :)

And, I have no idea about The Prisoner – I didn't watch the original series and didn't know it was being remade. Have I lost some geek cred, there? LOL

unclemush – Thanks! That's beautiful – which is it? Whatever it is, it's perfect for halloween :)

…..

The weather is fine – a little chilly. Last night's low was 46 degrees! In Morro Bay on Wednesday the wind was annoyingly strong but the night was crystal clear and calm. Thursday was perfect up there – mid 60's and clear with just a light wind – perfect for walking the beaches.

So, my plan today is to write up a new blog with a few pics from there but... I haven't looked at the pics and I don't know that any turned out. We'll see - I may just try to catch up on weather and reading. I know I missed the Ares launch, for one thing, and have 24 RSS feeds to read, lol.
In any case, I'll be around, off and on :)

sp - yeah, oh yeah, it was dry here! Better today though...even made it into the pool!

We take a trip to Morro Bay about every other year - usually the first weekend in October. They have a festival there. We go with a group of friends and usually do a little adventuring while we are there. Last year we drove to Moonstone Beach. Past years we've gone to Hearst Castle and taken a different tour. I think there is only one we haven't done.

Are you ready for some more heat this weekend? Even if we do go up in temps, it doesn't last so long and the evenings are cooling down.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Hallowe'en, sp.

And, say, got a kick out of the description of your singing drive across a beautiful Oklahoma morning!
