The person in this beautiful photo, taken courtesy of Ken, is me. Clio. I am Ken's granddaughter, and the stuff grandma has been feeding these overgrown lily pads is normally restricted by the government. Its the only explanation that i can think of.

The squirrels seem to know when we get up. If we sleep in they run around on the siding near the bedroom windows. I go down and grind some coffee beans and try to put water in the right place in the machine and get the day old ground stuff in the compost. Can't see all that clearly at 0600 but the squirrel knows I'm up.

ROFL!

Yes, with all those cell phone cameras everywhere, one must be careful!

Actually, liked all the pics. Be careful about the squirrels though. They can become quite demanding!

Yes Rob:
She knows. She took a couple of pictures while I was standing like a dummy with the umbrella leaf and told me to put a little life into the next picture. Dat's about as good as I get anymore - at least it's as good as I would consider putting up on the blogs.
(Hopefully no one has photos of my best performances)

1st pic is very cool.
I come back and see the third.

Sorta scary!
(but grandpa is happy...that is a good thing)
LOL

Have a great evening man!

PS...does the better half know you're dancing around the yard in your socks?

Gunther and I were swinging on to the four lane coming home this aft. and I recognized a dirty blue vehicle aboard a flat deck car hauler.
You guessed it. My buddy Ray (the tow truck driver) has pulled whatever he wants off the wreck and it is headed for the crusher. I said to Gunther:
"Couldn't have coordinated a better meet with a cell phone and a secretary."

Now I see the squirrel! I don't think it was here this morning when I cruised by - I hardly ever miss a squirrel. ;)

I've been tickled to death with the critter cam Ylee's got up. Every time I look, there are more squirrels. I know. That's squirrely.

Hope your evening's going well. Mine's about to be over with. A little more pottering then off to dreamland and up early to see if I work tomorrow, or if the rains really will show up.

Heard this tune today, and it seems to go with your/my/our penchant for reflection and reminiscence. Hope you enjoy.

Add to Shoreacre's thread about introduced species: I used to worry about introduced species, and I guess I still do. But ycd is right. By the time you notice them, they're already here. Typically it takes an extraordinary effort to eradicate an alien species once it gets established. By ‘extraordinary’ I mean more than most people regard as economically feasible. In other words, it won't happen. From now on, it's evolution in action. May the best species win.

Morning Shore:
I hear you but I don't see any way to contain this stuff. The action taken to date for the flotsam has been to sink one ship and send an Harley Davidson to a museum. Whatever species hitched a ride are now here.
Did you notice the Squirrel picture?

Morning! Be careful of what's on your tsunami debris. There's a lot of concern that non-native species of plants and critters can be hitching rides on that stuff - they have a small flotilla of scientists looking it over as they find it.

You can read more about it here.

Morning calpoppy:
Thank you and it is an Happy Father's Day. I get to hang around on the blogs until the three younguns who are staying here finish their standard sleep in.
Somewhere I found the name of that huge leaf but I must have left the link on someone else's blog.

Morning OrangeRoses:
The girl is both a forest girl and my youngest grand daughter, only 13 going on 22. Both of my daughters have left me with their dogs and kids to look after for Father's Day and gone off to the real "Wet Coast". I asked for a small piece of flotsam from the beaches there because our coast is starting to take delivery of the floating leftovers from the Tsunami in Japan.

That is such-a-great title! I am assuming she is your granddaughter, not a forest girl using the latest couture fashion umbrella who's photogenic. Anyway, I don't know for sure but if she is, she is a little older than me, as you once stated.
