Chillicothe... to Eldon.
* Until Thursday afternoon.
* At 7:50 am Tuesday the stage was 12.3 feet... or 1.3 feet above
flood stage.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* This forecast is highly dependent on rainfall amounts and may be
subject to rapid changes.
* Forecast... rise to 13.0 feet... or 2.0 feet above flood stage...
Wednesday afternoon. Go below flood stage Thursday afternoon.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Iowa... south central Iowa... southeast Iowa
and southwest Iowa... including the following areas... in
central Iowa... Jasper... Marshall... Polk... Poweshiek and Tama.
In south central Iowa... Appanoose... Clarke... Decatur... Lucas...
   Madison... Mahaska... Marion... Monroe... Ringgold... Union...
Warren and Wayne. In southeast Iowa... Davis and Wapello. In
southwest Iowa... Taylor.

* Until 7 am CDT Wednesday

* thunderstorms with heavy rains have already produced rainfall
amounts over two inches across portions of Madison... Warren and
Marion counties resulting in full ditches and water flowing out
of fields. Additional storms are forming along a western Iowa
frontal boundary and could produce more heavy rains over much
of the watch area this evening.

* Area soils are already saturated from previous heavy rainfall.
Additional heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding with
rapid rises in small streams and creeks.
