Nowcast | as of 2:46 PM CST on February 28, 2015

At 2:46 am...National Weather Service Doppler radars indicate widespread wintry precipitation falling across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Light to occasional moderate snow was indicated along and north of Interstate 44...with a mix of light snow and light sleet southward from there...before transitioning to a mix of light freezing drizzle and light freezing rain over east central and southeast Oklahoma...as well as west-central Arkansas. All of this activity was moving toward the northeast... at around 40 miles per hour. Through 5:00 PM...periods of light to moderate snowfall will remain possible...primarily for areas along and north of Highway 412. Some light sleet may mix with the light snow at times. Elsewhere south of this line...the atmosphere is in transition... with light freezing drizzle and light freezing rain becoming the dominate precipitation type. The addition of freezing precipitation on top of the fallen snow will only result in additional travel problems across the region. If you must travel...drive carefully...and allow extra time to reach your destination.
