Statement as of 02:10 PST le 24 novembre 2009 ... Patchy fog in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley this morning... Patchy fog has begun forming in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley this morning. At 2 am... the visibility in the Merced and Atwater area was locally one quarter mile or less. The visibility at the Hanford Airport was a half mile. Fog will become more widespread toward daybreak as the air continues to cool. Drivers in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley should exercise caution. Slow down... leave extra distance between you and other vehicles... and be alert for rapidly changing visibilities. Major roads that will be affected by the patchy fog will include highways 41... 43... 99... 152 and 198. Listen to NOAA Weather Radio... or your favorite news source... for updates on this situation.
