Statement as of 5:00 am PDT on July 4, 2008

For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude..

The National Hurricane Center has issued the last advisory on
Tropical Depression Boris...centered about 1420 miles
west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. For
additional information on the remnants of Boris...please see high
seas forecasts issued by the National Weather Service...under AWIPS
header nfdhsfepi and WMO header fzpn02 kwbc.

Showers and thunderstorms associated with a broad area of low
pressure located a few hundred miles south of the Gulf of
Tehuantepec remain limited and disorganized. Environmental
conditions do not appear to be conducive for tropical cyclone
formation during the next couple of days...as the system moves
slowly toward the west-northwest or northwest.

Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the
next 48 hours.
