Peach tree killed by brown rot. You pay $25 for a grafted fruit tree; dig up the ground, improve the soil, and plant it; water and mulch it, fertilize and prune it, spray it against bugs and disease, and net it against birds. You get maybe two decent crops (if you're lucky), and then it dies. This keeps happening; makes me wonder if fruit tree farming is worth it.

Thanks for noticing, Eileen! Yeah, tough luck... I've got two more younger ones that are dead or dying, and another I pruned all the dead twigs out of today, which was about half the tree... those three I really don't know what's killing them. It was a mild enough winter, and I have treated all my trees the same; the other dozen or so are thriving.
