This morning we are thanking the Lord for finally sending the rain we have so badly needed for the last several weeks! We got almost 1-1/2 inch Friday afternoon, and this is what it looked like.

Thanks for commenting, Tim! I wish we could send you some of the hot, dry weather we have had the most of in recent weeks, and that you could send us some of your rain. Things have been SO uneven this year! And even as I write, it has been cloudy, cool, and damp each day this week since Monday, but the only rains were little sprinkles until Friday's deluge. I just got my mower back from the repair shop and I haven't even been able to try it out because the grass hasn't dried all week.

Thank you, Cynthia and elegant! Cynthia, we have been known sometimes to get as much as 4-5" in an hour, if a downpour like this keeps up that long. Fortunately for us it usually doesn't. When it does, it can cause flash flooding, so we would much rather get it over a period of time. It's thundering again right now as I write, and looks like we are about to get another cloudburst.

So glad to see you all got some much needed rain, Kathy. Hope other areas of the country that are so parched and drought ridden, will be fortunate enough to say the same thing soon.

Thanks, Helen! Yes, we were very glad to get the rain, and glad it wasn't SO torrential as to wash things away. I too hope other parts of the country that need it will soon get some as well.
