I was excited when I saw this photo and the title. This is the first year I had ever had any pink eyes. A friend gave me some. I thought they were just as good as the black eyes. Glad you have some.

Thank you, Genie! I don't know how it would be where you are, probably the same, but these grow quickly, love hot weather, and tolerate poor soil, so they are a good crop to follow spring peas in the sand I have in the spring garden. They do have a curculio or some such insect that attacks them, making bad spots in some of the beans, but I can either dust them, or just pick the early, less infested ones, and let the later ones go. They're very productive and I love the way they taste. I mix them with cooked rice, bacon, and onions for a Hoppin' John dish.
