The move in the sand buried our beach chairs too, and the beach looked so clean and beautiful this morning. Strangely it looked just the same way as it did a few days after Tsunami 2004 when the wave had swept the beach clean of leaves and rocks, brought back some memories for me - my sympathies to any of you who lost friend or loved ones on that day.

Beautiful tribute, love the scenery of this beach, amazing how the island dodged such power from the power of the tsunami. Thank god for the high landscape! I think you should read this article too.
10/10 and I added to my faves! Looks like paradise! :)

Guess it's not as peaceful as it looks - beautiful though.

About Dawnlisa
Dawnlisa Hi! My name is Dawn, I run a restaurant on Bon Island in Phuket, Thailand. It's a wonderful little island, so whan I have the time I like to catch it's beauty with my Nokia N82. The weather here can be quite dramatic, anything from a beautiful sunny day to a violent tropical storm. The island is very rocky and rises high above sea-level, which was a major factor in protecting us from the 2004 Tsunami disaster. The photo you see here was taken on the beach at Bon Island just three days after Tsunami hit Phuket, the beach was beautifully clean and the sea the clearest we had ever seen, sadly the coral reef got very badly damaged and now, three years later we are starting to see it's recovery along with the return of many little fish. I feel very safe here on the Island and wouldn't choose to be anywhere else! Create your own visitor map!
