Cutting its way through a heavy layer of smoke over the mountain this morning. It was thick enough that I could look directly at it.

Thanks, Duane.

I don't believe I have ever seen so red
a sun until this morning. I wasn't even
going to go out. Then I looked out the
window just as the sun began to climb
over the mountain. Believe you me, I
grabbed the camera, monopod, shoes and
out the door. So glad I did.

Now I know where the smoke went. We are having a pretty decent day, so I figured you must be getting the brunt of it now. :(

Lovely shot.
The colour of the sky kinda reminds me of when we in the UK had the ash cloud from Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull a couple years ago.

Congrats on the VIP.

Indeed it does like the same. Well, smoke
is smoke is smoke, isn't it?

Your photo is very beautiful. Thanks for
sharing it, Dave, and thanks for leaving
a nice message.
