Any ideas what this guy is? Don't think I have seen him around before, yet, there were many around. They move fast and are jittery, reminding me of dragonflies

Beautiful photo of a Black Winged Damselfly. Pretty easy to identify as it is the only damselfly with black wings. As you said, very similar to a dragon fly though damselflies rest with their wings along their body where a dragonfly keeps them out straight or perpendicular to their body.

Thanks for the ID. I had a feeling it was a Damselfly but I didn't think their bodies had such vivid color to them

About Hurricane765
Hurricane765 UPDATED 1/11/12: Hello fellow photography lovers from all four corners of the globe! I am a 22 year old weather and nature photographer currently attending The State University at Oneonta as a Meteorology Major. I have been shooting for three and a half years now and have made outstanding progress in my art through learning techniques, strategies, perspectives, and learning about photography as a whole. I was a photographer for the Oneonta newspaper "The State Times" last semester and plan to be one again in the spring. Also, for the month of January, I have a gallery of 24 of my photos on display at my local library. This sums me up in a nutshell so please, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or anything else, feel free to message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Until then, keep shooting! Sky Enjoy my photos? I have created a Facebook Page specifically for my photography called "Keep An Eye to the Sky". All of my pictures will be there, minus the GIFs unfortunately. Please feel free to become a fan and browse through my many photos from sunsets to birds to even lightning. Here is a direct AND revised link:"http://www.facebook.com/pages/Brentwood-NY/Keep- An-Eye-to-the-Sky/86982928692?ref=nf" - Hurricane Create your own visitor map!
