Each symbol, and each color, holds meaning and tells a story. This horse has accomplished his mission (hand print on flank), has escaped an ambush (the yellow #), and has been instrumental in capturing three other mounts (red brackets on back leg). The red dots on the neck are a prayer for hail to fall on the enemy, and the yellow arrow is a fire symbol for strength.

Love this! Reminds me of a parade I rode in back in the 80's. My friend was decked in English attire and saddle, and I was riding a palomino with war paint and feathers :) THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES :)
