SUNSPOT GENESIS: The solar disk is peppered with sunspots and at least three of them are crackling with C-class solar flares. Make that four. A new sunspot, AR1465, has just broken through the stellar surface to join the action. As per Space W. Sunspots 1459,1460, 1462, 1463 & 1465 visible in this photo.

Fascinating. Do you know how large are these spots? I would guess that must be huge. Maybe I should check out the link.

Just found out...many are larger than the earth.

Some of the larger ones two size earths could fit into to them they say! I still believe that some day, maybe not in our life time, but there could be a very large explosion on the Sun that would send enough mass to space and create a new Planet into orbit.

LYRID METEOR SHOWER: The annual Lyrid meteor shower peaks this weekend on the night of April 21-22 when Earth passes through a stream of debris from ancient Comet Thatcher. Usually the shower is mild (10-20 meteors per hour) but unmapped filaments of dust in the comet's tail sometimes trigger outbursts ten times stronger. This year's peak coincides with a new Moon, which has prompted NASA to attempt an unusual 3D meteor photography experiment.

Thank You All. And the Approver for this AC. I do appreciated it a lot because of all the time and effort that went into bring you this photo & Info. I took 67 photos of the Sun to bring you the best I could. Plus research that would give you a better understanding of what is go on to the most important Sun that controls everything on Earth and our Solar System.

AURORA BOREALIS: Northern sky watchers on the lookout for meteors this weekend were surprised, in many places, by a display of auroras. "Northern Lights were visible most the night as a persistent glowing arc low on the horizon," reports Shawn Malone of Marquette, Michigan. "I spent a clear moonless night on the shore of Lake Superior and saw some nice Lyrid meteors cutting through the auroras."

SIERRA FIREBALL DECODED: On Sunday morning, April 22nd, just as the Lyrid meteor shower was dying down, a spectacular fireball exploded over California's Sierra Nevada mountain range. The loud explosion rattled homes from central California to Reno, Nevada, and beyond. According to Bill Cooke, head of NASA's Meteoroid Envronment Office, the source of the blast was a meteoroid about the size of a minivan.

"Elizabeth Silber at Western University has searched for infrasound signals from the explosion," says Cooke. "Infrasound is very low frequency sound which can travel great distances. There were strong signals at 2 stations, enabling a triangulation of the energy source at 37.6N, 120.5W.

SUNSET CONJUNCTION: When the sun goes down tonight, step outside and look west. Venus and the crescent Moon are shining side-by-side through the twilight. It's a beautiful way to end the day.

GEOMAGNETIC STORM: Earth is passing through the wake of a CME, and this is causing geomagnetic storms at high latitudes. Last night, auroras were spotted in more than a dozen US states including Michigan, Nebraska, Kansas, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, and Colorado.

SPACE ROCKS FOUND: Meteorite hunters have found fragments of the minivan-sized asteroid that exploded over California on April 22nd. Meteorites landed in the vicinity of Sutter's Mill in El Dorado County, CA, the same place gold was discovered in 1848, triggering the California Gold Rush. Astronomers plan to study the fragments to learn more about the asteroid, specificially its composition and origin. News reports: #1, #2, #3.

AURORA WATCH: Earth's magnetic field is reverberating from three days of buffeting by a high-speed solar wind stream. Since April 23rd, auroras have been photographed in more than a dozen US states including Michigan, Nebraska, Kansas, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado, Washington, and of course Alaska. As per Space W.

About Ralfo
Ralfo ASSUMPTION, PERCEPTION, PREJUDGMENT and EVALUATION. This is my abstract Oil Painting, painted many years ago. I was creating a new style of painting for myself. It is of something very beautiful! This is not just about me but everyone. How we all perceive things. Can you still see that it was and still is Beautiful? It is of a Monarch Butterfly. No matter what happens to it or we, and how it has changed. Aren't we all still Beautiful as we change or get older??? I have alway asked myself many questions about why and how people look at things since I was very young.. What is it that makes something look beautiful or cute. Is it the converging of lines, curves, angles and pretty colors that are formed in a certain way? And! If They Are and or Change with broken and disordered lines, curves angles and color, we think of them as unpleasant, ugly or grotesque. Why do we prejudge and jump to conclusions in split seconds and evaluate without all the facts, past and present. When it comes to living things like people and animals that were beautiful INSIDE and Out and then get older aren't we all still the same person. Aren't we STILL BEAUTIFUL inside? It's all about your Perception. I placed this picture after many years of thinking of showing it. Being Afraid of Scaring people because of their prejudgment in seconds without all the facts. So I wrote what I did! We were all born without Choices! None! We all are what we are! So when we look at others realize they had no choices either. We should Never Prejudge Anyone from the way they look. And always look for the inner Beauty in Them and Everything. NEVER ASSUME! (Ralfo)
