CME IMPACT: As expected, a CME hit Earth's magnetic field on July 14th at approximately 1800 UT or 11 am Pacific Daylight Time). A geomagnetic storm is brewing in the wake of the impact. At the moment, conditions appear favorable for auroras over high-latitude places such as Canada, Scandinavia, Antarctica and Siberia. It is too early to say whether the storm will intensify and bring auroras to middle latitudes as well. Stay tuned for updates. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

The arrival of the CME shook Earth's magnetic field, which in turn induced electrical currents in the ground at Arctic latitudes. Rob Stammes measured the effect from his magnetic observatory in Lofoten, Norway:

Stammes has observed many CME strikes from his laboratory at the Polar Light Center. He says this one was not particularly strong, at least in terms of ground currents. Whether this presages an equally muted display of Northern Lights remains to be seen. As Per. www.spaceweather.com

About Ralfo
Ralfo ASSUMPTION, PERCEPTION, PREJUDGMENT and EVALUATION. This is my abstract Oil Painting, painted many years ago. I was creating a new style of painting for myself. It is of something very beautiful! This is not just about me but everyone. How we all perceive things. Can you still see that it was and still is Beautiful? It is of a Monarch Butterfly. No matter what happens to it or we, and how it has changed. Aren't we all still Beautiful as we change or get older??? I have alway asked myself many questions about why and how people look at things since I was very young.. What is it that makes something look beautiful or cute. Is it the converging of lines, curves, angles and pretty colors that are formed in a certain way? And! If They Are and or Change with broken and disordered lines, curves angles and color, we think of them as unpleasant, ugly or grotesque. Why do we prejudge and jump to conclusions in split seconds and evaluate without all the facts, past and present. When it comes to living things like people and animals that were beautiful INSIDE and Out and then get older aren't we all still the same person. Aren't we STILL BEAUTIFUL inside? It's all about your Perception. I placed this picture after many years of thinking of showing it. Being Afraid of Scaring people because of their prejudgment in seconds without all the facts. So I wrote what I did! We were all born without Choices! None! We all are what we are! So when we look at others realize they had no choices either. We should Never Prejudge Anyone from the way they look. And always look for the inner Beauty in Them and Everything. NEVER ASSUME! (Ralfo)
