What'cha think caused this? Heard nothing! Had a bit of lightening...not much wind & some rain. The rest of the field's, which is HUGE, untouched! Something similar happened 2yrs ago, SAME spot. Damage to corn was less BUT, it left Bowling ball sized divot in dirt that remains! So, Micro-Burst maybe?

Sure looks typical of wind damage, that is, assuming a herd of deer didn't come trampling through (would have left tracks). The nearby presence of trees in one of the photos suggests to me that wind may have been channeled to that spot by deflecting off the trees. A bowling-ball-size divot? -- Lightning strike perhaps?

It's Like someone started to drop a huge bus, from a crane, on to the spot & then 2-3feet from the ground, changed their mind. No damage at ground level...no tracks to it...just all the tops bent over!
And, the divot before, had a swirled pattern & no charring! So, I assumed Wind!
But, @ChrisAnthemum Must be right about trees since it IS the second time in same spot! Huh? Thanx!
