I viewed this happen several times in the 1930s. Whe I saw one coming I ran to the house and helped? mymother moisten and hang up sheets over the windows and doors, I hope it doesnt become common again1

I would have commented on the other picture but it was disabled. These are FANTASTIC shots. Living my whole life in the East and Midwest I've never experienced anything like that. It's size is staggering! Especially in relation to the homes and power poles. Thanks for making sure there were reference points in the picture. It's the only way to really feel the size. Amazing.

I lived in England, emigrated to Portugal, holidayed in France, never saw anything like this. It really does look ugly. Thanks for posting, and also thanks TulsaJim for your comment that these have been around before. What's a gustnado? Worst we get is a dust devil. Whatever, its always bigger in Texas!
