These caddisflies are like little half inch moths that flutter all over in swarms. You have to watch your nose and mouth when you walk into a swarm. Very annoying but apparently they are a sign that the river is healthy. When I flashed this picture, some of them ended up looking like seagulls.

I am a housewife and live in Bettendorf, Iowa. I have always been interested in nature pictures. My dad did not share my interest. "It's not a picture without people in it!" I think there is room in the world for both kinds. I started here with an exilim pocket camera. I upgraded to an Olympus in the Summer of 2012. In January of 2013 I got a Samsung smart camera. Really nice! I like taking pictures along the shore of the Mississippi River which is just 10 blocks away from my house. I love looking at other people's pictures also. |
