This view shows the color of the little slug a student brought to school this past week. We took a few photos of it out on our sidewalk.Never knew the darn things had a hole (see view 2) on one side. I also found that mine had a very little blue dot on each of the optic tentacles. I did a little looking around the Internet to find out more about those little critters of our world. It was cool to find out the correct names too of the different body parts. The type of slug called a Philomycid are the ones that have a breathing pore located anteriorly (outside?) on the right side of the mantle. This hole is called a Pneumostome. The tentacle below is used to taste and should be in a pair but mine seems to have ONLY ONE. We will look again later this week after we place it on a glass panel.
