I took this from across the road from this house, trying to catch the little bits of glitter like snow flakes that were floating in the cold air. They were so very tiny in our very cold air and with this under a blue sky, it was just plain odd!

Your explanation explains it all! This is very odd. The only way I can think it would happen is if there are clouds a small distance away and it is windy at the time the picture was taken.

OH.. it was plain windy.. so that might have been it.. but I am reading that snow can be formed from the very air around if, IF IT IS cold enough. I have written Jeff Masters with my question, "Can that happen?"
