was created when a very fast moving, heavy Tstorm moved through..95 degrees and brilliant, hot sunshine gave way to torrents of rain, thunder, and wind..only to go right back to hot and sunny..the steam off the very hot asphalt driveway, with very hot water running down it, immediately rose up to create a surreal scene for about 15 min..the house looks like it's located on a hot springs lake!

Hey thanks all!! I went out once the sun began to shine, camera in hand, looking for a rainbow..even though it was still thundering..what I saw instead was all this STEAM coming up off the driveway and all the water still flowing down the drive from the heavy rain..so, for a brief time, it looked and FELT like a sauna!! still very warm with threatening skies..so I am sure we will be getting a series of storms as the evening and night progresses..and many thanks to our Approvers for the recognition! :)

About suzi46
suzi46 Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. The photo ops are virtually unlimited what with the surrounding working farms, dozens of lakes, ponds, and brooks, and thousands of acres of forest. Not to mention our own pond and brooks as well as extensive flower gardens, fruit bushes, vines, and trees. The views of Mt Washington and the Presidentials of NH only add to the drama! Not a bad place to be retired..and I am so glad I can share all of this with the wonderful folks on this great site..it has been a wonderful journey and learning experience thus far..and it's only getting better!
