Our strawberry plants were just beginning to bloom when they were hit by a late frost on the 12th, a full month after the previous last frost. This picture was taken two days later. All of the flowers that have black centers will dry up and die, yielding no berries.

We are getting cold weather too and we had a light flurry of snow overnight so I am not sure what will happen to the trees that blossom in the spring. We've had more frost lately than we had in March.

Thanks for commenting, Arlene! This seems to follow the usual pattern here of having warm weather for several weeks and then getting hit by a late frost. I am still assessing the damage; most of the fruit trees don't seem to be seriously affected, but the nut trees are unhappy, as are a lot of the ornamental trees and bushes.
