The windmill is obviously shot , the tank dry , but thankfully the ground is finally wet thanks to a few good showers that have returned to West Texas .

The rain is wonderful. The photos are awesome. When I see an old barn like that I get sentimental and think of the joy somebody had in building it and the joy of filling it with whatever, and then its gradual decay. Some things are so beautiful in their decay that it is sad.. But beautiful. Both photos are 10's.

Great work. Not too long ago parts of the UK were in drought but that has now changed due to large amounts of rain a couple weeks ago (all the pics below were taken in Somerset, the county i live in).

No problem, the top two came from Flickr (i am NOT on Flickr), the bottom one from another site. The flood water is still in the fields at Currymoor (the fields there are used to collect flood water from the river Tone, to protect the towns of Bridgwater & Taunton from flooding), i've heard that in places the flood water (after two weeks) is 6 up to foot deep in these fields!

Gorgeous and artistic shot, Tim! I am SO glad you have been blessed with rain down your way. We have had some great showers in our area as well. Quite the change from last year!

Congratulations on your fantastic AC for your other photo. Creative and artsy with those wonderful windmills and clouds. 10 on both!!

Dave: I was interesting in reading #9 above. Not only some flooding, but did you know that Taunton & Bridgewater are fairly near each other in Massachusetts?

About docshovel39
docshovel39 Hello , my name is Tim . I live in the small farming community of Ropesville , Texas with my wife and photo partner Sherry . I got involved with photography because of my older brother Steve - a fantastic photographer who lives outside of Seattle , WA . My favorite work , apart from his , is a terrific book entitled " Ghosts in the Wilderness " by Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , much of it shot in black and white . I also have become a fan of photographer Jim McGuire . His black and white shots ( nashvilleportraits.com) are amazing . Thank you for your comments and have a GREAT day !
