... Wind Advisory in effect from 10 am to 6 PM CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 10 am to 6 PM CST Sunday.

* Timing... strong winds commence by late morning and peak around early
afternoon.

* Winds... west-northwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts upwards of 50
mph. It is entirely possible for isolated 55 mph gusts closer to
the coast.

* Impacts... driving high profile vehicles may become difficult,
especially over area bridges and elevated roadways. Strong
winds may displace loose objects and could result in minor
property damage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or greater...
or wind gusts around 40 mph or greater are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

Issued: 15:30 CST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Gale Warning remains in effect from 2 am to 9 PM CST Sunday...

A Gale Warning remains in effect from 2 am to 9 PM CST Sunday.

* Winds: northwest 25 to 30 knots with frequent gusts to gale
force along the bays, 30 to 40 knots over the near and offshore
waters. Brief gusts to storm force will be possible Sunday late
morning over the offshore waters.

* Waves: seas building to6 to 8 feet nearshore and 12 to 15 feet
offshore. Bays and waterways will be rough to occasionally very
rough.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

... Red flag warning in effect from 10 am to 6 PM CST Sunday for
very strong west-northwest winds and critically low relative
humidity values for all of south Texas...

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a red
flag warning, which is in effect from 10 am to 6 PM CST Sunday.
The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Timing... strong west to northwest wind and critically low
relative humidity values are expected to commence during the
late morning hours Sunday. This condition is expected to
continue through Sunday afternoon.

* Wind... west to northwest wind 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to
50 mph.

* Humidity... minimum relative humidity values 10 to 20 percent
over the Rio grand plains to 20 to 35 percent over the coastal
Bend and over the Victoria Crossroads.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Residents are urged to exercise care with respect to all outdoor
activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires. Report
wildfires quickly to the nearest Fire Department or law
enforcement office.
